Japanese puffer-fish, sometimes fatal if swallowed, is not served here, despite the implication. But you can get its American relative, as well as every other sushi variety you have ever seen and some you have not. Fish combinations and unorthodox ingredients such as mango turn up in sushi to match the hip, edgy decor, red velvet wallpaper and non-stop Japanese hip music.

Service Downturn – My wife and I are regulars. The sushi and the scene are still fantastic but the service the last three times we went has been markedly worse.
Business response:
While we are glad you enjoy our food and atmosphere, we want you to feel that you are treated outstandingly here as well! What about our service has disappointed you recently? We welcome your feedback, and invite you to return on us; we'd be happy to offer you a $50 gift card.
Very disappointing service - and food... – I used to eat lunch here at least twice a month when I worked in the hood until about 4 months ago. I know service was never great, but yesterday I took my brother and his wife, who's Japanese, visiting from out of town, I was beyond embarrassed to have even suggested eating here. First of all, I am a gay dad to a 10 month-old baby, who was with us. I know that crowded restaurants and babies don?t mix so well, so we waited until after the lunch rush to go to the restaurant. A lot of... read more
not to die for – a bit loud inside, but the atmosphere can be fun if you're with a big group. the sushi was good, but nothing to rave about. i'd go more for the ambience than the sushi.
Bad Service Suzi..................... – Rude server ruined a good experience.Suzi do not tell me you can't wait for a cold beer at the end of your shift and treat us like crap............What's up Jason
Creative rolls, sake cocktails and a pulsating scene keep locals coming back to this sushi joint. – The Scene Japanese anime merges with SF-style grungy chic in this hard-edged hipster spot. Scenes from futuristic films flash on the flat screen behind a trio of punked-out sushi chefs at the bar, while those in the dining room huddle close--squinting to see their food and trying to catch a word between the techno beats. The Food Cleverly named, somewhat strange combinations are the menu's specialty. Appetizers, such as the py... read more
Good sushi + pretty people + raunchy anime = a night to remember... – Like I said, you can't have a bad night at blowfish. Kind of loud, so not a good place for a romantic date.
awesome food, amazing atmosphere, and great drinks! – If you like fresh, unique flavored sushi, this is the best spot in town. The sushi here is absolutely delicious w/ a wide variety to choose from. My husband and I started w/ the gyoza's, and it was by far, the best gyoza's we'd ever had. We also ordered the Buddha roll, Dragon roll, Godzilla roll, and the 1920th roll. They were all excellent. Would recommend to get there early because it does fill up quickly. The drinks are also unique in their own for they are all made w... read more
YUPPIE LOUD OVER PRICED MODERATE SUSHI – This restaurant is for those who don't know real sushi, and those who like a small portion fancy concotions using moderate tasting sushi. It is full of yuppies and the loud japaname techno is not good for digestion.
was good a few years back The atmosphere is decent but the sushi is nothing great. The fish doesn't seem 'fresh'..mabye fresh frozen but that's about all. A bit over priced for the quality of food.
