Our home had a burst pipe on 12/26/22, while we were out of town. We contacted our insurance agent who recommended Blackhill Restoration for water remediation. The company ,and owner both are shady, to say the least. Damage to home resulted in approx 2" of water needing to be extracted. Because we were out of town, our agent coordinated the work. We had half our house damaged due to a frozen water heater pipe bursting during the freeze event in Texas. We called them immediately and were told "don't worry, we will take care of you". So we stopped calling other companies, assured that we were on their list and would be fine. Nearly a week goes by, my house is starting to smell due to mold, and I haven't heard anything. If I could give 0 stars I would. We had a horrible experience with this company today. SCAM LIKELY!!!! After learning we had a slow leak from a pipe in the wall, Blackhill Restoration was recommended by our plumber and contacted. I initially spoke with Kristen and she set up an appointment for a technician to come and assess the damage from the leak. Customer was aware of the $150.00 assessment fee and signed a work authorization to that affect as well. The work authorization has language for customer responsibilities for charges. Prior to this review, Blackhill had elected to forego sending the customer to collections for monies owed. For an after hours call for water damage assessing, there is a cost associated with that which the customer was aware of, then eschewed after the service provided.
Having black hill restoration was ok until I realized they turned my cat 3 Black water a nightmare They demoed my home to the point of total destruction tvat wasn’t nessasary Abs not a good job ! The broke and left things behind and didn’t finish the job from 4/1/2018 to today ! I have found out that my insurance co paid them for the mitagation but not the horrible pack out of putting wet and dry things together in one box ! Also putting two golf ***** in one big box ! As an act of good faith customer service, Blackhill agreed to pay full replacement value of the contents that the customer contends were damaged by Blackhill, but that Blackhill disputes were damaged because of negligence as we have photo documentation from time of service. In order to pay the customer, Blackhill must first be paid for the services rendered.
