I have been fantasizing about the pumpkin spiced Chai latte I got last week from the Broadway Black Rock. I had to stop into the Ustick location to get another one today. I'm hooked! I decided to head in and see what the vibe was like. It's a pretty chill venue. It's a smaller joint. They have quite a few tables to hang at inside. Awesome outside seating as well. The service is nice but this coffee bar is too busy with too few employees. We had to wait around 15 minutes just to place our order and we were the only ones in line! The 3 employees were working on a lot of drive through orders and what appeared to be large phone in orders. After finally getting to place our order it was quite a long time before receiving our order. My hot French toast latte was served iced instead. I really like this place, and I enjoy the coffee most of the time. However, it’s frustrating that they don’t keep a menu or record of their past seasonal drinks. Half the time I order an old favorite, it’s no problem—other times, the staff has no idea what I’m talking about, especially if they’re new. It would make a huge difference if they kept a simple archive or reference list for past drinks. Until then, it’s pretty annoying having to explain the ingredients of something they used to serve. I don’t typically get coffee because I usually just make it at home. However, I stopped by Black Rock coffee for the first time. Erin (the barista working) was extremely helpful explaining the drinks on the menu and very patient with my mom and me while we ordered. I ordered the iced french toast breve and I asked Erin if I could have the drink with as little sweetener as possible.
