Great place for diversified education, in the most wonderful forest!! Loved meeting all types of people from many states. Of course, Williams & Ree were the stars of our years!!
BHSU needs to focus on students and their education. Not on FTE and the money each student brings in. Many faculty are not quality. The faculty often start at BH as a stepping stone. Many staff are uninterested in students and do as little as possible to help. For example, often staff won't answer their phones if they know it is a student but, when they see it is the college president they will answer. It’s a great place for education degrees. It has pre-professional options but there are better schools for that where that (pre-pro) is the school’s main focus. The only negative thing I have to say is that Mid-Term grades basically don’t get put in unless they are deficient, and overall grades are not updated, making it very hard to know where you stand in a class.
Great place to live and go to college. Started at BH when i was in summer after third grade (Lab school .... practice teaching for summer teacher grads! ) Graduated in 1970...
This is my sons home away from home. He plays college football here and loves it. He loves the small town feel and the people that live in Spearfish!
