Just saw a truly fabulous theatre production on the complicated life of my name sake Etta James ( I'm Johnetta, dad's name was John & he liked Etta James music) between the music, dance, soul baring speeches, heartbreaking reflection & narrations that honored this lady. She not only survived, but she reinvented herself & thrived. Excellent Job Black Ensemble Theatre & creator Jackie.

I didn't see" Etta James" that's next. I saw" #BoboTheBully " with my kids class. Even though it's for kids the message is clear. Through song, dance, rap, and stomp they show how a bully is made and hopefully unmade. A little preachy at the end but still excellent! !! The message needs to get out so kids can stop injuring & killing each other. It speaks to all race, class, and gender. I hope this makes a #DeansList.
