I am writing on behalf of my 70-year-old mother, who has been under Dr. Gayed's care for the past five years. I am deeply concerned about her ongoing and worsening health issues that have yet to be resolved. Yesterday, she was prepped for surgery to remove kidney stones for the tenth time, but the procedure had to be canceled due to yet another infection. Unable to do a cystocope due to stricture so he said “ look .. I cannot do this, there is a stricture” walked out and left me laying there. Eventually, I got up , got dressed and went out to the desk. I asked if he scheduled me for any other procedures or what was going on. They charged me $500 with zero follow up for anything. He’s a rude physician that has horrible bedside manner, awful follow up. Avoid this guy. I’m not even sure he’s a real physician. This was the on call urologist at my urology office for UPMC St. Margaret’s. I called on the weekend with blood in my urine after going to Quest twice to receive my standing UTI order which didn’t show up on file for my second trip. By now I’m in a lot of discomfort. This doctor told me “go to urgent care, I don’t recognize the name of your doctor and we don’t do standing UTI orders here.” After looking him up, he’s in urology oncology saying he doesn’t know how to handle a UTI patient and making bold statements of what they... read more

I would give a zero if it were an option. Do not waste your time. I arrived at the parking garage at 1245 for my father’s 115 appointment and they cancelled it while we were parking. He did not care that I rearranged my schedule and took off work to be there. We were a half hour early for the appointment when they cancelled it. He apparently didn’t want to or is unable to read a pathology report from another UPMC physician. This is what a complete disregard for patient care looks like.
