Sarcasm and arrogance cost you a customer! Think about it. Today is the last time I'll be going there (8/6/10). My Sun Conure needed her left wing clipped, and the young guy who cut 2 (as in two) feathers rang me up with "that'll be ten dollars", I replied that for the year and a half I've been coming there it's always been $7. He replied, "Well, we have to make a living" to which I replied that raising prices in these times is sure to drive away business. I go there because it gets Sunny out around other birds and she likes... read more

Bird Crazy: disappointed! I would hesitate before buying a bird from Bird Crazy. The birds were aggressive, stacked in cages from floor to ceiling, and afraid of people. The birds were in a room that had no windows, which is not healthy. The employees were unfriendly. The birds were in cages that had no toys for them to chew or play with and they were unclean. Birds were sick. I left irritated, and felt pity for the poor birds. I have been to many bird stores, and none have been near this bad. I have two conures that I have ... read more

If you want a Bird this is where to go Bird Crazy was so helpful when we decided to purchase a bird. They hand raise the birds and are extremely knowledgable. I have purchased birds from othe places but never recieved as much information, attention and care as from Bird Crazy. This is the only place in San Diego for the person who is serious about owning a bird.

Beware of ANYTHING you buy at Bird Crazy. I bought a cockatiel from Bird Crazy a few months ago. I have already spent twice the cost of the bird in vet costs. She had two infections and was anemic due to a poor diet from the seed that Bird Crazy recommends. Their brand of seed has disgusting bug contamination!!! I found a bag of seeds there that was swarming with bugs. I informed an employee, who did not care and did nothing about it. I brought home a bag with a spider and maggots in it, which I promptly returned for store c... read more

In Reply to Sonny Post This is for Sonny. Just wanted to let you know "Feathered Friends" only charges $4 for small birds and I think $7 for the larger birds. I had my Cockatiels featheres clipped at Bird Crazy and they actually caused some bleeding. My Vet said its because they must not had been careful when clipping her. I will NOT be taking her there again. I have been to "Feathered Friends" and I have had no issues like that.

Don't waste your money Terrible experience, we got a orange winged amazon last monday he was a sweet guy but he has a skin disase, they didnt want to give us our money back and gave us the option to trade him for other amazon,we ot a mexican red headed amazon took him to the vet right away and suprise he is worse than the other one. Tha place has a terrible reputation now I know ,I wish i did some research before spending 720 dlls in a sick bird. The people in the store don't care about the birds at all ,they are looking for... read more

Got our first and only bird here I love this place. We used to go here just for a daily getaway. You can pet and interact with the birds. The owners are fantastic. We bought our only bird here and when we moved we gave her back. She went to the home of someone who had just lost their bird. They called to ask if we would donate our bird and of course we agreed. Our bird went to a little special needs child who just loved her. They had this little girl come in and bond with her before they called me to ask my permissin to give... read more

Shop here if you're an animal lover! After many years trying to raise my amazon parrot, Conan-the-barbarianne, i had to part with her and it broke my heart. Both Len and Darcy were so wonderful to give Conan consideration. During tough financial times for all, this place has managed to stay afloat and remain dedicated to what's RIGHT for the birds. They did not care about the prices... only about finding a good home and being fair. Kudos to Bird Crazy for puting caring above costing.

Bad grooming bad parrot grooming experience. My African grey got loose and climbed behind the wall display. She was traumatized. They should do the grooming in a small enclosed area instead of the middle of the store.
