Dr. Umapathi and her assistant Wendy are incredibly competent and caring people. When I became extremely ill after seeing two different doctors and two cat scans that did NOT reveal a perforation, Wendy was able to rearrange the schedule and get me in to see Dr. Umapathi quickly. During the appointment, she LISTENED to me and took quick action in having me admitted to Sibley Hospital where I was diagnosed with sepsis, an abscess and a perforation that could NOT be seen due to its location. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Umapathi and her team. I originally went to her for a second opinion after feeling uneasy with another surgeon, and from the moment I met her, I knew I was in the right hands. Despite having a fully booked schedule, she went out of her way to add me in as an additional patient so that my surgery timeline and time off work would stay the same. Dr. Bindu Umapathi is hands down one of the best doctors I have ever seen. From the very beginning, she made me feel comfortable and cared for.
