Love this place for anything outdoors. It's the closest thing in FL to an REI that isn't big a corporate name. Every time I've walked in all the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable. I also did a ski lesson here, was taught by Brent and he was a fantastic instructor. I highly recommend this store for gear and lessons.
Brant Bowers put on the best gear and footwear clinic on 11/19/16, for those of us who are planning either a thru hike or long journey ( i.e. Camino de Santiago ) all staff were very knowledgeable and professional. Thank you.
The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. They are also very helpful when it comes to finding what is right for you. Victor taught the class that I took and he was great! I will be coming back again soon.
I bought my Glock 19 there and I continue to go there to shoot at the range. Always helpful. Always courteous. And they play great 80's music over the speakers.
First and probably last time at Bill Jackson's, went to look at their kayaks. Very nice selection of kayaks, but I spent about six minutes back there with questions about different products, no one was in the whole area. One employee did walk by me playing with his phone said Hi, He kept walking. Seems like an awful lot of time, money, and effort, not to help out with potential customers. Went there to demo paddle boards which was free. Jerry Jackson rocks! He totally took care of everyone and gave priceless advice on handling a paddle board. Only my second time on a board and fell once into the lake. He even showed us how to get back on the board after u fall into the water Highly recommend doing this on the first or third Sat of the month just to see if u really want to buy a board or just use it as exercise for the day.
All around great place to visit. They have everything that an outdoorsman would want. It is unique in every way. I took their open water scuba course with Rocky and had an amazing learning experience! I also took a carry/conceal course here and again was blown away with all of the knowledge that I gained all while have a great time. Oh ya, you can actually snow ski here too! Been going to this place for over 25 years and still love to go!
