Eat elsewhere! It's just across the street from Shea's Theater but find someplace else to eat even if it's not as close. The Bijou Grille is way overpriced and the quality of food is mediocre at best. My expensive mixed drink was very watered down. The baked manicottis must have started out as frozen mush but some of the dish ended up being burned --- the whole plate looked like it had been heated with a flamethrower. The tomato sauce was overly salted. There wasn't enough bread to go around and you'll find that anything as ... read more

Overated! The service was extremely slow, the food was so so, and the prices were outrageous for the portion size and taste! I woud never go here again before an event.............I'll stick to the Pearl Strret Grill & Brewery where I know the food will be awesome and good service!!!!!!!!!

Very disappointed Was looking forward to a great meal at the Bijou. Arrived after theatre matinee. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We (2 couples) ordered 2 Tilapia, kobe burger and spinach salad with chicken. The fish, with potato/rice and vegetable arrived cold and had to be sent back, the kobe burger was crisp and overdone on the outside and red on the inside with very boring presentation of fries, the spinach salad as an entree was not as large as the added salad to our fish entrees, had minimal dressing and th... read more

Jaw-droppingly rude Went to the Bijou Grille on a word of mouth recommendation 12/06/08 before the Transibierian Orchestra @ the HSBC. The hostess asked us, (a party of 4) if we had reservations, and I replied we had not. She waved the owner over and he almost nothing short of accosted us with a how dare we come into this establishment without reservations!!!. I could feel the hostess wanting to crawl into a hole as she pointed to some blanks on her list and then he offered us the bar. No thank you and good bye.

Convenient before a show Bijou grille has a cool theatrical art deco atmosphere; a good but small menu. I found it to be a bit overpriced and the Kobe burger a bit undercooked. It is convenient before going to Sheas but leave yourself enough time because the service is slow.

Bad experience We usually visit this restaurant before going to the theatre. It's close to Shea's and has a very nice atmosphere. The prices are a little steep. Unfortunately the last time we went my husband and I both had the scallops and ended up leaving the theatre because we were both sick. I'd be very picky about their seafood again.

have the 5 cheese haddock Very easy access to theater. The 5 cheese haddock for dinner was excellent. Served nicely with fresh asparagus and your choice of potato. Also had a side salad with crumbled blue and a very tasty vinaigrette. Although not a "cheap eat" the atmosphere, the service and the high quality food made it worth every penny.I will definitely be back. You can easily park in a lot on Washington ($2.00) and walk one block to Main.

Good place for a business meeting Bijou Grille, located on Main St. in downtown Buffalo. This is the part of Main Street that you wont be able to drive on (the train runs on it), so park on Washington Street or Pearl Street (if you can find a spot). Anyway, this place is average in my opinion, the food is just ok and prices are above average. The menu selection is nice though and so is the atmosphere. Good place for a business meeting.
