RecommendedBig Wheel Bikes does great (and quick!) work and the folks are always friendly - no matter what your cycling skill or experience level they treat you like a member of one great big bicycling "club." Oh - they also sell terrific bikes and not just the most commonly seen brands. Now, during the pandemic, there's a shortage on new bikes, they are selling trade-in bikes... and they have the coolest trade-in bikes I've come across. This place is a gem!
RecommendedTire was going flat as I was biking on the capital crescent trail coming into bethesda today on Labor Day. Thought I was out of luck and had to walk home. Thankfully big wheel bikes was open and gladly pumped my tire for me. Very nice and helpful staff. They will have my business in the future.
RecommendedWas almost at the turnaround point on my long ride today and my shifter cable snapped. I McGyvered a way to keep the rear gears NOT stuck in the hardest gear. Limped back a ways to Big Wheel Bikes in Alexandria. And they kindly squeezed me in and fixed it so I could ride home!
RecommendedI bought a Scott Speedster gravel bike there a little more than a year ago. Superior, rapid and affordable service with a smile. Work done when promised. I challenge you to find a better local bike shop. Check them out.
