I took an "Android Development for Java Programmers" course last semester, and "The Big Nerd's" book was what we used learn. Totally a big fan of their publications. I recently seen one for iOS Programming and will eventually be grabbing that as well. Clear and thorough. I also reccommend having a background in Java and Object Oriented Programming, they will carry over.

Very good training. The books are easy to understand. The authors of these books by Big Nerd Ranch are for all levels of professional, from the Jr. Developer to Architects. The training is superb, and will get up and running on any topic in a short amount of time.
Bootcamps, regular classes, or any of their technical books are awesome choices for learning macOS and iOS programming. I'd love to take classes down there on an ongoing basis, like as a reviewer or something... :-)
