Been eating at BBG my entire life every time I come back to Decatur to visit family. Learned a few years back that Bob Gibson was my great uncle as he was married to the sister of my great grandmother. Family relation or not, a trip to Gibson’s is a MUST when I’m in Decatur. Well, everything was COLD on my plate. 1/2 chicken, beans and fries. The only thing colder was the water.
There's a real good reason they've got blue ribbons hanging on the wall... The red sauce, the ribs, the smoked turkey, the brisket, the pork, it all just melts in your mouth! Did I mention the sauce?

We love Bob Gibson Bar-be-que! We like the Bar-be-que chicken, the stew, the sandwiches, loaded baked potatoes, and the chocolate and coconut pies. We eat there regularly.
Maybe just a bad day, but we weren’t impressed. If you haven’t had excellent BBQ, it was ok but I have had excellent BBQ. No smoke flavor, but all the meat was tender. We had ribs, pork & brisket.
The food is okay. The best would have to be the pork stuffed potato. The pie is the worst. The chocolate pie tasted like a water down chocolate with a gross whipped topping. The service is usually fast and friendly.
