I saw Betts for about 12 years. We had a pretty decent relationship and I followed him to this practice that he opened. I always found him to be available and helpful when needed. However, that drastically changed within the last couple of years and especially in the last month or two. Although he was quite polite and knowledgable, I found Dr. Betts to be rather unreliable. After attempting to refill my prescription for two weeks, I had to go to urgent care due to withdrawal symptoms, just for a standard antidepressant. He was also adamant that I should take an antipsychotic, even though I do not have bipolar or schizophrenia, and antipsychotics are not usually recommended for unipolar depression. Overall I would not recommend this provider.

It took 4 months for an appointment, because his practice is one office, just him. From the FIRST phone call Dr. Betts and his "medical billing staff" as he calls them, KNEW I was on medicare. I was told this was not a problem and that they accept my insurance. I had two appointments before I was dropped from his practice. He sent me a short letter saying they dont accept medicare and he'd give me refills for 30 days.... I waited FOUR LONG MONTHS and they KNEW from the first phone call that i wa
It's so hard to find good psychiatric care, but William is great at being flexible and listening to your needs. Compromising when he can and letting you know the different medications available and giving you a clear idea of how long you need to be on them and giving you a plan. I always leave his office feeling confident of my next step.
Excellent care from a psychiatric provider who truly knows the medications and how to prescribe them safely and effectively...I am referring him to families dealing with autism as well as other issues.
