Almost 10 years ago I felt like I was misled and misinformed into an open adoption that ended up being an extremely hurtful and degrading experience for me. Here’s how the people I chose to adopt my baby made me feel: I felt used, I felt unappreciated, I felt looked down on. I was treated like I was nothing after I chose those people to adopt my child and it hurt me deeply. They made fun of me and treated me coldly during visits.
