The whole hotel smells like musk and mold. The room was aggravating my allergies and asthma so much I couldn't relax no way I was going to be able to sleep. I decided to cancel the room after a couple hours and find a different hotel. Still got charged for one night. Save yourself the money and stress and find a cleaner hotel.
Our stay at the Best Western Longbranch Hotel & Event Center was extremely disappointing. The entire property felt poorly maintained. Hallways smelled unpleasant, bugs were visible in common areas, and the pool and gym were dirty. Even the exterior felt more like an outdated apartment complex than a hotel. We stayed in 421 ( 2 bed/2 bath), which had such a strong odor of mothballs that it made us physically sick. We had to leave just to purchase air fresheners and candles to tolerate being in the room. First of all - DO NOT GET A ROOM ON THE FIRST FLOOR. The rooms on the first floor are in a different building than the rest of the hotel. That means if you want ice, breakfast, pool, gym, you need to leave your building, walk across the parking lot, climb stairs, get on an elevator to the second floor and go down the hall. Laundry services are also in that building. Second the room was so damp and musty, it was disgusting. Even the carpet was damp. My skin was damp, our clothes were damp, the bedding was damp.
