Awful experience. Rooms are outdated, the air conditioner sounds like a construction site, and the rooms smell musty. I don’t know how they have 3 stars, but it was the only downside of my vacation. Disappointed with this hotel. I will never stay with Best Western again because of this one.
We stayed here in September 2026 and had a fantastic visit! We were in a Water View Room in the Del Mar building, and I was impressed by the big room, cleanliness, great AC, amenities (coffee, microwave, fridge, etc.), and the resort as a whole. It feels very classic San Diego, with a Hawaiian/Polynesian theme, complete with lava rock walls, tropical foliage, dining, and sea-side views on both sides of the hotel. Very nice hotel with large rooms. Outside view from the dining and bar is spectacular. My only complaint is that no coffee maker inside the rooms. There is a large coffee brewer is always fresh in the lobby. Yes, I would definitely return if I traveled back.
