The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which was one of the few highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, the room did not meet expectations for a hotel at this price point. We found insects, including spiders and what appeared to be beetle. A property charging premium rates should have much stricter cleaning and pest-control standards. My wife and I have never been to this area, We have a son in the Navy and he was coming into Norfolk on a carrier. We wanted to see it coming in. All I can say is this place was a great place to see his ship coming into Norfolk. It went right by the hotel. This place is a must stay. You have Beach, Pool, Breakfest and the staff was excellent. Thank you Tina for all of your directions and help. If we ever come back diffenently staying here.
After checking out I noticed several charges that were not disclosed. I booked the room directly through bestwestern.com. After checkout an additional charge of taxes and fees that were not disclosed were charged to my card. The taxes appear double charged on my folio. I was given a room discount on the website that the hotel did not honor and charged full price for the room, charging an additional $51.82 that is being charged in error that the front desk is unwilling to correct.
