I have to say the food and service was great, but those collard greens were some of the best I have ever eaten..
Came in about 6 pm on Friday. Had a shaky previous experience but thought it was an exception because through the years the food was great. No big chick sandwich available and staff have no reason as to why. Appeared it was simply inconvenient. Fries mildly warm. Not a great experience. Hope you all figure out what's up. You are normally a great stop.
We stopped here on 12/30 for a BBQ dinner based on some reviews I read. I feel like we made a mistake on this stop. The buffet had a decent selection, but the BBQ pork was dry like it had been held too long. Then the price for 2 adults and 2 kids was $48 plus tax. I suggest passing on this establishment.
We were home for the holidays from the north, where good BBQ is hard to find, and were sad to find that the quality of Bessinger's has gone far downhill. Aside from advertising a BBQ sandwich on the sign, while actually out of BBQ, they were out of brisket, coleslaw, and fried green tomatoes. Perhaps even more, those were just items we wanted. The onion rings were still liquid batter on the inside, and my sister found a long dark hair in her sandwich. Total disaster of a dinner. Sorry but we won't be back.
Coming home to Charleston always includes a visit to Bessinger's - the BBQ takes me back to my childhood every time. My dad and I just placed a HUGE family order through the drive-thru and they got the order right and served us with a smile. �
The brisket was amazing! The kids corn dog was great and same for the refried beans. My family loved it and will go back soon.
My mother & I dined in tonight. Staff was quite friendly & food was delivered quickly, as well as accurately. The portions were substantial enough to provide each of us with lunch for tomorrow! Also, I personally appreciate the owner/mgr being interactive & pleasant. Thank you for having us!
