My clasp broke and they repaired it while I wait for $10. Very nice service and she answered all of my questions.
Super disappointed that my mother's 1970's-era Cartier earrings (bought at the flagship store in NYC) were deemed fakes. I guess the appraiser took a Time Machine back, had a look around the store, and didn't happen to see my father purchase them. What a shame because I was present, along with my brother. A strong memory because we got to go to FAO Schwartz afterwards and each pick out a toy. The takeaway: Just because someone claims to be an expert doesn't make them an expert.
This is not the actual Bert & Co.
Came here before and received great service. Traveled from Baltimore again and the hours were different from advertised so it was closed. On the phone I was treated differently than when I arrived. So I traveled here again, but was treated very differently in person and my business was clearly not wanted this time. Maybe it’s the media, but I wasn’t welcomed and I felt it. I wasn’t comfortable with leaving my precious ring, and I went with my gut.
I was looking for a jeweler to replace the battery in my watch. The two nearest me were closed, or I couldn't find them. I finally found Bert's. I had already bought the correct battery, so somebody opened my watch, removed the old battery, and replaced it with the new battery. I was surprised that they charged me $10 for this. I guess I haven't had it done for a long time, but my memory was that previously, there was no charge at all. Perhaps times have changed, or perhaps Bert's charged me a lot for very little work.
