Dr. Mandelbaum is an excellent surgeon who cares deeply about his patients. I felt cared for throughout my entire experience and his entire staff is absolutely wonderful as well!
Dr Mandelbaum replaced my right ACL in 2010 and my left ACL a couple of weeks ago- both after tearing them in skiing injuries. He was thorough and prompt. I am now in physio for the second ACL. Was off crutches in less than two weeks and so far recovering well. I have full movement and range in my other ACL. Like any surgery you have to stick to the plan for physio religiously to get the best results. dr Mandelbaum is a true expert in knees. Recommend.
Excellent person! If you want to get better this is the guy to do it. He’s got a plethora of experience with pro athletes and works with anyone and everyone on top of that. Simply put he’s the man both in and out of surgery!
I had ACL/Meniscus surgery 5 years ago. I received a survey about it today in an email so was inclined to write. I was told at my consultation that in 6 mo. I would be back to doing everything I did before. After my surgery, I could no longer run and do other sports/outdoor activities I have enjoyed throughout life. I was told that if I had a twin brother, he would be recovered already, because men recover so much faster than women. So unreal, and so inappropriate. Post-op care was awful.
I am a physician & saw Dr. Mandelbaum because a famous knee replacement surgeon uses Dr. Mandelbaum himself! I am consistently impressed by his knowledge, professional manner, & expertise. He is 100% on target with his care: repairing my knee when I tore my meniscus, but honest and conservative, recommending against surgery 2 times since then--aware (correctly) that the injuries & pain were just temporary. I just referred my husband to Dr. Mandelbaum, secure he is in the best hands.
I would never recommend Dr. Mandelbaum to a family or friend. The clinic was dirty, the wait time was execrable, staff were rude, and perhaps most importantly, the medical care provided was shockingly subpar. Dr. Mandelbaum never examined my knee himself and did minimal investigating into my issue. He prescribed a treatment that, as I reported, had done little to help in the past and seemed uninterested in discussing alternatives. To add further insult, the treatment was incorrectly administered
This is the worst Dr. I have ever been to. Firstly, he misdiagnosed my knee issue and 6 months later I still can't walk. If he would have spent more time and care and paid attention I would have been healed and walking 5 mo the ago. Now I have to have a surgery. Also, every single time you go to his office, plan to wait AT LEAST 2-3 hours wait! Even though you have an appointment. This doctor needs to get it together. he's not properly caring for his patients he is running an assembly line.
Dr. Mandelbaum spent little time explaining my condition at the first visit and less time the second visit. My husband and three children are all physicians so I know what appropriate care should be.I was very frustrated with this Doctor because his disinterest was apparent and perhaps only surgeries would excite him.
Dr. Mandelbaum was recommended by my primary care physician. I was able to get an appointment in a timely manner. Dr. Mandelbaum was attentive, informative, professional and took a real interest in my case. Within a 2 1/2 week period, I had my first appointment, an MRI and surgery. The surgery, which was more complicated than originally indicated, went off without a hitch. At my post op appointment on the day following surgery Dr. Mandelbaum provided a detailed review of the surgery.
