I have been bringing my son to Dr Jay Bernstein and Dr. Mayumi Mori now for the past 4 years and both doctors are extremely friendly and caring. They take their time with the patient and also they answer all questions that I had. The office staff is super friendly with the kids and super helpful on the phone when making appts and informing you in regards to any insurance questions you may have. I will continue with this practice and these doctors until my son ages out of their practice.
Performs unnecessary tests not covered by insurance company without upfront approval. Would not trust. Staff is rude.
Dr. Bernstein is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctors I have ever met. Our infant son, two months old at the time, had recurring amniotic fluid buildup around his eye. It was a very scary time for me and my wife. Not only did Dr. Bernstein successfully perform surgery to fix the problem (son is now one a half years old), he was terrific with my son and came into the office during a weekend during an what my wife and I felt was an emergency, to see him. My husband made an appointment because my daughter failed her eye exam at her doctors appointment. When we were called in, the doctor seemed annoyed already. When I tried to explain that daughter had been having issues with sight most of her life and because of insurance issues we had to wait until she was 3 to see a doctor. He completely disregarded what I said and asked me if my daughter had any issues prior to failing the test. Very fast exam ,not spend time or asked question .just in and out then who next.
I called the office (Advocare Ped) and asked if they accepted Anthem BCBS. They said YES. At the first appointment, I fill out the paperwork and paid co-pay. Due to bad traffic, the doctor was very late and I rescheduled. At the 2nd appointment (1 week later)they tell me they have no records of my paperwork that I had just filled out 1 week ago. I had to fill them out all over again. Saw the other doctor (Dr. Bernstein). He was great. One month later I get a bill for $320. When I call they tell me they dont accept any vision... read more
This doctor became impatient when he gave my 7 year old an eye exam. They charged a lot for an routine eye exam.
