This is not on the nurses or doctors — this is on hospital administration and leadership. There is no organization, no capacity control, and no accountability. Too many children are being allowed in without enough beds or rooms available. We spent most of our day at AMC Children’s ER, and I just have to take a moment to say how truly wonderful every single orderly, nurse, and doctor was. The care and attentiveness they showed made such a stressful situation so much easier. I’m so grateful that we have a children’s ER close by—it makes all the difference knowing our kids are in such capable and caring hands.
Honestly I was thinking twice to come here since I just moved from the city but honestly they were very fast very nice The doctors listen and go with my opinion which is great My daughter is soo sick they took her in right away So far I’ve had good experience
Now that I am recovering from the shock and trauma of my experience at Albany med children’s hospital, I will say that anyone with a very ill child who doesn’t know what is wrong with them should not go to Albany. Go to Poughkeepsie, Boston, Westchester. Albany med allowed residents to take charge of a very complex and rare condition which was clearly not within their skill set. They overloaded my child with fluids (11lbs in 7 days) , didn’t take daily weight or measure fluid intake or output, drew blood 2x daily, did not tr... read more
