Darcy Bergen founded Bergen Financial in 2003. He founded our firm based on a simple philosophy; to teach our clients how to employ strategies to help protect them from incurring losses on their savings. I have been a client of Bergen Financial a few years. When I was trying to figure out what to do with my 401k funds that needed to be invested I saw that Brian Meythaler was a CFP and I set up time with him. Brian took the time to analyze my account and make recommendations to me on where to move funds around. He also talked to me about other investment opportunities outside the 401k. He was very thorough and pleasant to work with and I would recovered him to anyone needing financial advice.
Bergen talked me into putting my 400k in annuities and for the last three years I have not made one cent off the investment, but I found out that Bergen made about $50k. I don't think that they act as feduciaries. This year they tried to get me to switch to a different annuity with a $30k penalty for early withdrawal. Then the new annuity company denied me.
