Drove 2-hours, waited over 1-hour. Seen for 5mins. Obviously had not read the referring doctor notes. Asked why we were there!
I recently moved to the Richmond area, I made an an appointment with a hospital here and they gave me an appointment with this doctor William Benson. I read the reviews about him some of them bad, but I thought, I was going to have a better experience, but no I find him to be somewhat dismissive in that he told me that he can't do anything for my problem and he was not going to schedule me for another visit, that means ever. If you're having a problem with your eye, this is the doctor to see. We were referred to Dr Benson by another doctor regarding my daughter. The first doctor told us it could be cancer in her eye. Dr Benson knew immediately that that was not the case and put our minds at ease with a confident and thoroughly explained diagnosis. We were immediately set up with a treatment plan. He was extremely kind and generous with my daughter and very understanding with her father and me. His bedside manner was outstanding. He always took t... read more

Very pushy and condescending... very belittling of other doctors and surgeons not from VCU... no matter their credentials
