I am a veteran with a mental disorder and have major depression and chronic ptsd. I was in Iraq 06-07. I missed a few appointments. And they done an mri and had to have contrast. And when I called they said I can’t be seen there. If this is how we treat former military. Because they wouldn’t do a phone interview. So I kept putting it off because of my anxiety and ptsd. I had Dr. Newman as my neurosurgeon when my ex hit me so hard that it caused a subdural hematoma and my brain moved 4 mm inside my skull. Dr. Newman showed great concern and care regarding my injury and took my case very seriously, even stating that my ex should be charged with attempted murder and reiterating that to law enforcement. I appreciate Dr Newman for being an advocate for me and showing such care for me at one 9f my darkest hours in life.
Great bedside manner, very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable make your decisions about your care and treatment. Only bad thing I can say is that I had clips placed for an aneurysm in my brain and I asked for the card that was supposed to be issued to me for my implants and he told me they don't issue them any more. That was a lie and now I have trouble getting MRIs done without what seems like an act of congress to make it happen. I have to carry a copy of my surgical notes around.
