Bengal Tiger

4.1

About this business

Chef Muhammad Uddin has put the considerable experience he gained at Moghul Palace and India Express to work in his own restaurant called the Bengal Tiger at the north end of the University District. Uddin works the tandoor oven with a gifted touch, with the chicken coming out juicy and hot. He also brought his mussel curry recipe from Moghul Palace, reputedly a favorite of Bill Gates. The samosas are also excellent.

We're lucky to have this restaurant in Seattle – After eating at Bengal Tiger for years, I'm finally writing a review. In my opinion, BT is the best Indian restaurant in Seattle, hands down. It is owned by a genuine chef with great experience, who is always experimenting to make the dishes better. The ingredients seem always to be top quality. One can choose from a very large number of different, interesting dishes. In other words, this is a destination restaurant, not a typical neighborhood one, and definitely not a one-not... read more

The Best – This has become my favorite restaurant ever. The food is killer, and the owner, Mohammed, has to be the nicest man walking this earth! So, back to the food....the sauces are perfect. Absolutely perfect. I have gone to other Indian restaurants in search of something better, and I have yet to find it. You must go, you must try....you must!! You must!!

Yummy and pleasant – Bengal Tiger is probably the Indian restaurant I most visit in Seattle. The food is great, and there is a lot of selection (many dishes that I haven't see elsewhere). Also, you usually get served a free bowl of soup right when you get there! The ambiance is also nice. It is usually quiet. The service is also good. I would highly recommend Bengal Tiger if you are in the area and are craving Indian food.

Love it! Best East Indian food in all of Seattle. Killer buffet and, normally, I am not into buffets but I can't turn this one down!! The owner is very sweet and accommodating. All the food is very tasty, fresh, and exotic. The tandoori chicken is moist and delicious. I'm sad I don't live as close to this place as I used to.

Their service really shines... This little gem of a restaurant is tucked away near the corner of NE 65th Street and Roosevelt Way. This family owned and operated Indian restaurant seems to specialize in prompt, courteous and extremely polite service. The first time I visited the Bengal Tiger, they offered us free samosas, and I think I've ordered them every time I've returned. Their selection of vegetarian dishes is well received by my mostly-vegetarian family, and there is always something to please everyone from their menu... read more

Great food in neighborhood place Bengal Tiger offers great Indian food with several southern-Indian style offerings that are often hard to find in the Northern-cuisine-dominated restaurants around here. The lunch buffet is great, offering a wide variety of dishes and several new offerings to try. You'll be surprised to find out that tasty dish you tried is turnips!

Indian food you must try! – Since finding this place, I have been back monthly. I have never been disappointed. These dishes are so good that I often order only the vegetarian dishes and never miss meat. My favorite is the Garlic Zucchini! Don't mistake me though. The meat dishes are also meltingly delicious. Try the Mango Chicken. Go! You have not had great Seattle Indian food until you do.

Smashing sauces – What we have here is one of the best Indian restuarants in Seattle, and I've tasted nearly all of them. The hallmark is their sauces, which are so flavorful that we leave the plate squeaking clean. Try the lamb mango wala, what a spectacular brown sauce! The byrani is a little moist for my taste, and not as richly flavored as I would like, a quibble. The chicken meat was very cleanly prepared, always a good sign of a thoughtful kitchen. A nice light touch with the pecora. First rate all around, every dish s... read more
