Chef Muhammad Uddin has put the considerable experience he gained at Moghul Palace and India Express to work in his own restaurant called the Bengal Tiger at the north end of the University District. Uddin works the tandoor oven with a gifted touch, with the chicken coming out juicy and hot. He also brought his mussel curry recipe from Moghul Palace, reputedly a favorite of Bill Gates. The samosas are also excellent.

NWSource's top pick – I?ve been to many Indian Restaurants around Seattle area. Bengal Tiger so far has been my favorite. They won the ww w nwsource com best Indian Cousin contest twice for 2006 and 07. What I like the most about Bengal Tiger is that they use fresh vegetables. Most other restaurants use frozen vegetables. I have many favorite dishes from their menu. I like their mussels and the Buhna curry the most. Also their Mango curry is very good as well. I have been also very pleased with their service. Very friendly s... read more
First time I've really enjoyed Indian food – I've had Indian food a few different times before and had never cared for it...but my boyfriend and I decided to go to Bengal Tiger and it was so good! When I mentioned the restaurant to my friend the next night, she had told me it was her favorite Indian food place. So when my friend and I went to BT for dinner (which was my 2nd time in a week after I discovered it) Muhammed introduced himself. He seems so sweet. He told us next time we come in, we'll have to ask for him and he'l... read more
Awesome food !!! – awesome food !!! specially Bhuna chicken and paneer burji . Mohammad ,the manager of the restaurant is very friendly :) .. A "Must try " place .
"Bengal Tiger" has replaced my beloved "Sahib" in Edmonds – I found this place after my long-time favorite curry place up in Edmonds, "Sahib," was unexpectedly closed down last summer due to rent overload. Nearly suicidal with "curry withdrawal syndrome," I got on the Web and searched for other Indian places which might help satisfy my curry addiction. I tried a few other places but, compared to my beloved "Sahib" (which was superb, btw) they left me cold. Then I came here to BT in summer of '07 and haven't bothered looking ... read more
Great Buffet a restaurant with integrity – Newly renovated this restaurant used to be as dark as a cave and has now come into the light. The result is a light and airy restaurant with what you could call a friendly decor. Looks can be deceiving however that is not the case in this restaurant. The food is very fine. Spicing interesting and always consistently good. In fact I have never chosen a dish (and there is a lot of variation on the menu) which is not fine and interestingly spiced. For value you can try the buffet which... read more
Best Indian food around – There really is no middle ground in seattle for Indian food, either it's great or it's awful. Out of the handful of places around seattle that are actually good Bengal Tiger is my favorite. My girlfriend and I eat there at least once a week and have always had nothing but a stellar experience. The owner is one of the nicest guys ever, the food is consistently excellent and it is better then taste of India by far. They truly value their customers and frequently do anything to make them happy. Do your... read more
No need to go anywhere else! – I am surprised by some of the reviews that give Bengal Tiger less than 5 stars. Maybe those people went to the restaurant on an off-night, but that has NEVER happened to us. When we lived in Green Lake, before we moved to Tacoma, we ate here every Friday night. I have eaten Indian all over the U.S. and this place is by far the BEST out there. Muhammed, the owner, is the nicest man around and he's an incredible cook. The Naan is perfect every time and the Chicken Tikka Masala and Prawn Garlic Wa... read more
Best Indian food on planet Earth – Bengal Tiger is by far the most consistently excellent Indian food around. We are always seated promptly, always greeted with smiles, and above all the food is flavorful and delicious. Very, very vegetarian friendly. Ambience is also great with a relaxed atmosphere and usually some good ?ol traditional tavla and sitar on the speakers. The Navrattan Korma, Mango Wala, (vegetarian) Tikka Masala, Vegetable Jalfrezie, Paratha and Naan all exceed the normal ?above-average? Indian food. We?ve pro... read more
