RecommendedI appreciate the commitment of the District 100 teachers and staff to each students development. My youngest just started Kindergarten in this system, but her 4 older siblings have experienced how thoughtful this team can be. Each of my children have different personalities and needs and the district has been flexible in working with each of them as individuals. I don't think there is another district in the area that I would entrust the little loves.
teachers don't seem to care to help students who need help .
there are plenty of ways. First lets discuss how they are so money hungry that they don't care about the children in extreme negative temperatures. While all surrounding areas were closed, they decided that our children can go, standing outside waiting for buses or walking is ok. I have been in this school district since I was young, I went to these schools. They have taken a nose dive every year since 1998. Schools wait til 4 am to announce weather closings, not only leaving parents a mere couple hours to make arrangements, but also WAKING PARENTS UP AT 4 AM! We already dont get enough sleep without unnecessary interruptions. When there are a dozen other nearby districts already decided by midday, there is no excuse for delay, let alone REFUSAL TO CLOSE altogether when the temperature is -18 with the windchill. District 100 is by far the best district around this area. There are many benefits to our schools. Lincoln, central middle school and Belvidere north have all been great to my children. Great faculty and facilities.

Over the last few years the Central Office team has really implemented positive, forward 21st century things that benefit the student and supports the educational staff. It's a "new day" in Belvidere. No wonder District 100 has achieved a "Great Place To Work" accolade. The 'vibe' in the buildings is felt each day. This is reaching your student - and thanks to the Administration to having heart, courage and vision to truly create the space we imagine 'what school can be.' The best is yet to come...
Seth Whitman is a top notch school! I've had kids at Seth almost continuously since it has opened and the administration right now is the best it has ever been. The push towards individualized learning is at an all time high and reaches all the way down to the lowest grade levels. My youngest child is just finishing 1st grade and has had the best year.
