Belton ISD had been an excellent public school system for a long time, and it still is today. Not perfect, and not everything is the way I would want it to be, but truly it is excellent overall. This is the opinion of the husband of a former long-time BISD teacher. And the father of two daughters that metriculated from kindergarten through graduation from BISD, now thriving in college. And another daughter that is thriving at BHS as a junior. And, yes, I too am a proud Belton Tiger.
My rating is for the, so called, swim class. My son is in seventh grade. He is in the "swim" class for seventh period. This class has been able to get in the water for approximately one week and a half, since school started. The "swimming" class is no longer a swimming class .... it has turned into another study hall. The kids get to watch those from "club" get pool time, or wait for a mysterious part for the pool to arrive, or twiddle their thumbs, for a week, while the coach is elsewhere. Pitiful.
