Steve is a first rate framer, with decades of experience, and a background in fine art. He is honest, conscientious, and takes pride in his work. I have worked with him for years, for both work-related and personal projects. I have never been disappointed and know that if I were, he would make it right without complaint. I wouldn't go anyplace else in Portland.
Amazing customer service and work! – Steve is great!! He was extremely helpful with a somewhat difficult piece that had to be stretched before being framed. Once he found out it was for my partner's birthday he made sure to get it done by the desired date. He was friendly and reasonable in price and service throughout getting my piece framed! We will definitely go back to him and won't be getting our pieces framed anywhere else. It was a pleasant experience!
the best – Steve Amato is friendly, professional and excellent. Over a period of about two years I engaged him to frame many of my best nature photographs, maps and favorite prints. In every case, he did the job well, quickly and professionally.

great framing for a great price – The owner of Below Cost Framing is knowledgeable, competent, and speedy. When I brought in a very large photograph to be framed, he helped me pick out a suitable frame and managed to creatively mask a defect in the existing matting around the photograph. The new frame was ready just a few days later, and cost less than half of what another place down on Hawthorne had quoted. I am so pleased with the job he did! I will never have anything framed anywhere else.
