What a horrible "account" of the history of the KKK. Aw, those poor, misjudged angels in white suits. Really? I'm astounded that a newspaper would present an article such as that without at least balancing it with the truth about the KKK. I don’t think I can say anything that hasn’t already been said. Its too bad because the article about Mikey Brenkus’s “Hike for ALS” was very good and last week a wonderful story about our special needs kids. This week... we have the friendly neighborhood KKK. Kinda makes that warm fuzzy feeling go away.
I would give you one star or none for the KKK story. What lies. First of all the KKK was founded to prevent African Americans from having the same rights and privileges as everyone else. Second the KKK is far from a dead organization with a large enclave right over in Marion- Brothers of Klans etc. With the violent history of Klan activities you cannot claim they are just a 'club'. Not going to reiterate all of the sentiments already shared by others, so I’ll leave you with this...you should be ashamed of yourselves for giving a platform to a KKK apologist. This is a new low for the town.
Your recent article on the KKK speaker was downright disgusting. It felt like I was reading a puff piece written by a KKK PR representative. Its shocking that something like this was allowed to be published, and I'm embarrassed to have a paper like this representing my hometown.
