okay bar – This is one of those bars that keeps a line outside to make it look appealing. There was nothing appealing about the crowd inside though. The bar itself is interesting, but was completely turned off by the college crowd and older sketchy people.
Unreliable, unfriendly – I booked a private room at this bar almost a month before my birthday, and spoke with the woman in charge 4 separate times to confirm beforehand. She assured me that the room would be all mine for 2 hours, regardless of when the rest of my party showed up, and that we would have full access to the menu. WRONG! When I arrived (on time) with some of my party, we found that the room was already full of people. The bar staff was extremely unfriendly, and refused to clear the room even though we had a res... read more
NOT VERY HELPFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE – UNFORTUNATELY WE WERE TRYING TO GET SOME HELPFUL SERVICE FROM THE STAFF ABOUT HOW THEY COULD HELP A GROUP OF ABOUT 15 OF US. MOST OF OUR GROUP WAS NOT FROM THE AREA AND WE HAD PEOPLE COMING FROM HOURS AWAY FOR A BACHELOR PARTY. THEY WERE RUDE SNIPPY AND COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL. YOU WOULD THINK FOR SPECIAL OCCAISIONS PEOPLE WOULD TRY AND BE A LITTLE MORE CONSIDERATE, BUT I GUESS NOT. THEY HAVE LOST MY BUSINESS AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. I WILL NOT BE VISITING AGAIN.
Liked it – Even though the wait to get in was about 20min, inside was still roomy. There wasn't much of a wait to get a drink, and it was only ab out $4.50 for a mixed drink. The live music was good, playing all the classic cover songs.
Terrific! – The Bell in Hand actually has live music 7 days a week, which makes it a great place to cure those mid-week blues. It's got a great atmosphere, and during the summer, the windows open out to give the place a nice breeze.
Lots of character in this old pub. – This place makes you really feel like you are in Boston. Located down on the cobblestone streets of Fanueil Hall, it is a hot spot at night, but is great for just stopping in for a beer too. Has live music and good beers on tap. Fun spot for barhopping through the area, or making a night of it.
for pete's sake! – my pals and i went out in boston last friday nite and had a great time there. the band, "for pete's sake" really got the crowd going and we had so much fun dancing, and they even let us sing in their microphone. (as well as one of us who went up there and played a mean tambourine!). all in all we had a wonderful time...we were taking our ex-roomie who now lives in cali out for drinks. the music definitely made the nite! :) the only bad thing was a fight all of a sudden broke out and there was some pushing ... read more
