Delicious food. Great drinks. Fun staff. Excellent customer service. Fun atmosphere.
I did not like the up close image of the pig snout on the wall. It made me uncomfortable. The meal was good. Most of my table got waffles which we all enjoyed although the menu options are a bit intense in that everything is quite experimental which is fun but can be overwhelming when there's no basic options. They also leave the leaves on the strawberries for some reason?? So I had to cut those off myself. The owner was very arrogant killed the whole evening vibe for us. Tried to let them know what was wrong, but apparently he did not care to hear it during our visit. The side of fries for nearly $10 were under cooked, and the rest of our dishes was just ok. We have visited this establishment several times over the years, and it is unfortunate to see it declining, it used to be a must go when traveling to DC , now it is on the avoid list.
Cool ambience and tasty food, but not good enough to make up for the rude and discourteous service. The two (two!) bartenders seemed more worried about inventory than checking in on their customers, even though we were the only customers eating at the bar. To his credit, the manager apologized and offered us “something nice” on our next visit. Not sure what that means, but not incentive enough to make a return trip. Disappointing experience, especially after hearing such great things.
