I read the reviews about Dr. Shah and went into my initial appointment incredibly skeptical. My options for psychiatrists were very limited because of my insurance, so Dr. Shah was one of my only options despite the reviews I read. I have to say, my experience was the polar opposite of these reviews. I LOVED her. She greeted me with a smile and a very cheerful tone of voice. She listened attentively to me, she was warm and validating. And her suggestions for medication seemed spot on.
I wish I could leave zero stars. I am so mad I didn’t look at prior reviews before stepping foot in this “doctor’s” office. I’m so sad she has made others feel the same way as me. I told her I didn’t want to try new medicines but go back to what worked. She didn’t listen. She’s ver demeaning and hung up on me when I asked questions about my treatment.
This rating is based on an initial consultation of meeting her, which is even more concerning in regards to her demeanor. She spoke at me, instead of to me. She appeared presumptuous and her delivery was reminiscent of one that was egotistical and debative, rather than concerned. While checking in with the receptionist, she walks in, asks the receptionist if we were the 11:00 appt (we were on time), then proceeds to walk into her office without acknowledging us. She is very unprofessional.
Very basic and shallow interaction during evaluation process. I can't currently afford the medication I need to take, and I signed up for coverage, which required Dr. Shah's to fill out part of the form. She refused and gave me a coupon for the medication, which only covered a small percentage of the cost, and yet leaving a high unaffordable amount for me. I got charged $158 for to answer standardized questions and get zero help from someone who holds a Medical Degree. Untrustworthy!
Dr. Shah is not personable at all. She completely dropped us as a patient when my daughter got out of the hospital, without a referral or direction on where to go from there. We felt helpless and alone
She is very difficult to schedule an appointment with and it isn't uncommon for her to cancel an appointment due to conflict in her schedule a couple of days before the appointment. She can be rude and is not personable.
