I wanted to go ahead and put a review on here. I was admitted around this time last year and This place changed my life. They gave me hope, hospitality, and encouragement that I needed at my lowest. When I didn't know the outcome I was given patience. When I needed to go on my recovery journey, they listened and encouraged me to do so. This facility is great! The staff, all of them are compassionate, professional. Im currently in the out patient program where we all come to group between 3-5day therapy. The therapists are fantastic, my life has greatly improved from before. Special shout outs: Jason, Michelle, Ashley, Jonathan, Melissa, Lexington and Kerrian!!
My daughter was recently here. They did not understand her health needs and provide her the proper diet. They over medicated her and masked her symptoms. They poorly planned her discharge. I couldn't be involved while she was there and expected to figure out her needs when she got home. My daughter felt unsafe at times because of some of the aggressive patients. My daughter needed a place to help her and they fell short.
The facility is new and in good condition. Mental health facilities are notorious for getting bad reviews from people who don't understand how the mental health system works in the United States. I saw none of the incompetence that some say permeates this particular hospital. In fact I found the doctor to be very knowledgeable and listened to someone who's been dealing with his mental illness for over 30 years. My daughter is a patient at this facility. Her medical care is being overseen by a Dr. Tarek Kanaa. I had discussed my daughter’s care with my daughter, the patient and we both decided that it was in her best interest to receive care from a facility and doctor whom has previously cared for her. She is willing to get help which is a huge healing step in this process and I want to support her the best I can.
