The nursing staff was amazing for my son but the doctors leave a lot to be desired. He was in for 10 days with intense pain in his diaphragm and rib area. Multiple tests which took way longer than necessary to complete and no communication with the patient. Thoracic surgeon couldn't be bothered to even see my son except the day after he arrived. Finally was released with no answers just a week supply of oxy. Went to Henry Ford and got answer at first visit. Never going to Corewell Royal Oak again.

In the late 2000's, my mother suffered what is known as an "art line" injury, following a AAA stent surgery. The radial artery in the right hand became occluded, or blocked, due to a monitoring device placed in the arm. After emergency surgery, this radial artery failed again and again and again. The pain from this condition is indescribable. This hospital was decent. The staff were primarily friendly, and supportive. What I loved most was the wait time, only took about 35-40 minutes to get a room back in the ER, whereas Trinity (St Joes) takes HOURS! I’ve heard mixed opinions about royal oak Beaumont but my fiancé and I for having to be at a hospital, had a decent experience.

Oh my I would never recommend anyone to the hospital! Worst experience ever I in the cardio department and a nurse named Michelle, is rude and disrespectful and talks behind your back. I have so much more I could say but I’m thinking of getting an attorney do to her and a dr also but I’m going to call her out because I asked for a simple non narcotic anti-nausea med and she wanted to throw a little temper tantrum. I do not understand the purpose of the emergency department when the waiting room is overflowing and patients are forced to sleep on the floor while waiting to be seen. This level of delay is unacceptable and points to serious management issues I always come here for emergency need, but after 4 hrs of wait and seeing no progress with 14 patients waiting in triage, I will never come here nor will I refer anyone here. What a disappointment!
