Our 5 weeks old had an incarcerated hernia so we went to the ER and were later transferred to Pediatrics. Within 12 hrs, he underwent surgery. The staff, especially the nurses at Pediatrics and Dr Akay were exceptional, very caring and competent! The only thing we did not like was that the rooms and furniture seem really outdated (at least 20 years old) and uncomfortable. Medicalvise we felt really taken care off. Thank you!
I brought my child to the ER after a head injury, and the experience was extremely disappointing. When I asked for a private space to breastfeed in the children’s section, the nurse told me there were no rooms available—even though I could see empty rooms. Instead of offering patience or alternatives, she threatened to call someone and refused to help. One of the best hospitals I’ve been to very helpful very nice and the young ladies that work over in the NICU are super nice and they actually ask who you are and what are you doing here and they also ask for ID to make sure you have a business being here which definitely a lot of other hospitals lack on doing so! 5 star for me!!
This is for the PEDIATRICS department. I want to start by saying if you have to bring your baby here I by all means understand but only if it’s a must! My baby was admitted on a Friday and we did not leave until Tuesday around 9 PM. My daughter had come in for vomiting and diarrhea, and on top of that her blood sugar kept dropping we were given no diagnosis no understanding as to what it could be. I know these are supposed to be recent but I never got a chance to give my review after our stay here. About 7yrs ago, my son was transferred here from Dearborn and that night he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, we ended up staying in the children's unit for about a week, during that time the staff couldn't have been more helpful in explaining everything to us, they wouldn't allow us to even leave until we understood everything, everyone was very friendly and we were treated very well, also the unit has many things for th... read more
