Beaufort County Schools was once my home. Due to a very poor administrator, I was treated horribly when I tried to set up interviews at both St. Helena and Whale Branch Elem. The head of HR would not respond to my complaints. All these posted openings, yet they treat applicants with disrespect. When an interview is granted, the principal never contacts the teacher to give a final decision. Unprofessional!
My son is bullied constantly since 2011!! Last year, a kid beat him up in the cafeteria, even kicking him several times after throwing him to the floor. The fourth kid assaulted by this kid during the school year. Kid got a three day suspension and was allowed back to harass my son the rest of the school year. Looking for information about the new school hours that were voted in. Are Beaufort county schools offering before school care or are we just suppose to leave 6th graders and up home alone. We both work and now we have to find before school care.
Constant rule changing at HHIMS. The time for early release has to be before 145 now. At the beginning of the year it was 2pm. Arrived at 158 to pick up my son and they would not release him for an appointment. When questioning, some imaginary administrator from the back room gave a definite NO. Asked to see someone and they had the nerve to send the SRO officer. What a way to treat a parent! Especially one who had been actively involved with the PTA for the last 12 years!
This needs to be put out there we've been turned down by every school and rec center in beaufort and jasper county when it comes to usuing their fields. Instead of just telling you upfont that they dont want you using their fields they just give you excuses. Its sad that this area doesnt support young men trying to do something positive. Things definitely need to change

In order for any community organization to use any BCSD facility, a Facilities Usage Application must be completed and submitted to the Facilities and Maintenance Department. Fees and conditions apply if applications are approved. Your organization is welcome to apply to use our facilities.
All the rain we've had over the past few days I think it would be prudent to cancel school today, Monday, October 5,2015, to give some of that water a chance to resend. Especially water in low lying areas and dirt roads. The chance of even ONE incident is one too many. Better to be safe than have an incident . Just my thoughts as a concerned parent and citizen. We must consider the commute of our students and teachers and their safety in their commute to and from school.
