I found Dr. Tuerk to be rigid in her views and authoritarian. I would hope that a primary care physician would see themselves as a partner in their patients' health care, but I felt that Dr. Tuerk didn't listen to what I was saying about my medical history, and instead had her own intractable viewpoints - a one-size-fits-all mentality. I felt that my concerns were not respected and I was not seen as an individual. Instead of having a discussion about a treatment plan and what my options were, I felt that she had a 'what I sa... read more
I saw Dr Barton for many years but when I had a high platelet count, after many blood tests he said the next step was a bone marrow. I repeatedly told him I wanted to be twilighted. He refused and told me to push thru the pain. I’m seeing another hematologist and did a bone marrow. Northwestern hospital twilights ALL their patients for a bone marrow. He let me walk away rather than twilight me. I have very good medical insurance. I won’t continue to see a doctor that isn’t concerned about his patients request especially sinc... read more
I have been a patient of Dr. Emily Tuerk for almost 15 years. She is not rushed, is thorough, caring and listens. I trust her implicitly! We all should be so fortunate to have a Dr Tuerk caring for us.
I scheduled an appointment with him after having an exacerbation of my decade long back pain and sciatica - at that point I was few months after (insurance issue) recovering from an episode of pain that lasted few weeks when the pain would wake me up at night and I couldn’t even lean forward less alone bend. Overall he just seemed puzzled why did I even come actually asking me that question. As if it was totally normal for a 32 year old to live in a constant pain and regimen of not lifting heavy things, not sitting in the ca... read more
Dr Wojewnik was kind, listened to my concerns and an excellent surgeon. I truly felt “cared for” as an individual, not just another patient (in & out). I had pain score of 9 & 10 prior to my spinal stenosis surgery and now have been pain free.
He's a neurosurgeon who doesn't know that pinched nerves create pain. His bedside manner is poor, 1.5 hr behind schedule for an unnecessary in person visit. Decided to cancel the surgery with him after 2nd visit . I should have canceled after the first visit instead of waiting.
Always friendly and caring.
Respectful, kind, and caring. Doesn't push unnecessary or tests.
I first met Dr. Tuerk in July of 2015. She is extremely thoughtful and takes her time to make sure my concerns have been addressed. When my mother's primary care physician moved out of the Loyola network, Dr. Tuerk took her on as a patient. I have appreciated all Dr. Tuerk has done for me as a physician but I want to share how she treats my mother. Dr. Tuerk has shown extreme competence and patience with my elderly parent. She will make time in her extremely busy schedule to squeeze my mother in for an appointment if my mom ... read more
