As a Macungie resident for the past 42 years, Bear Swamp was always the place to go. The service and food was always excellent. When Georgia and Mike took over running the diner, it continued this tradition. I have visited the diner once since the newest management took over. It is difficult as the hours have been ridiculously reduced. It is closed more than it is open. Came in and decided to sit at counter as there was a wait for a table. Sat for twenty minutes and no one took our order. Saw manager talking to waitress do I told her that we had been at the counter for twenty minutes and no one even acknowledged us. She said, well we are busy, there is only one waitress for the counter and those tables! There were ten counter seats and ten tables!!!! She rudely said! We are busy you'll have to wait!! We left and will not be back ever!!!!!
Has good breakfasts, and very good hamburgers.I give it a stars.
I always eat here at least once when I am in town to visit family. Had the chicken Parmesan today and my dad had the turkey with gravy, dinner items. Bill was under $20 and several hours later we are still not hungry. When you are hungry for diner food, go here!
