I had a real estate closing yesterday in which Compass Bank was the mortgage lender. Worst closing ever. Despite having 7 weeks to do the loan, they waited until the last day to do anything, violated Federal RESPA laws, delayed the closing, lied about what they were doing and then simply stopped taking calls. Closing was delayed by four hours, then took three more hours to complete because they lied about sending numbers, funding etc., keeping a lot of people waiting for them to actually do something. Worst bank I've ever dealt with – The Action: Let me just say that I am one of the most responsible people I know with money. This bank has the nerve to charge me 10 NSF fees at $38 a piece because my Checking account drops into the red (I guess it dosent matter that I signed up for overdraft protection which draws from my savings when this happens). WORST BANK EVER!! – I wholeheartedly agree with the other negative reviews. This is a horrible bank and I will be closing my accounts today. I'm a responsible person in general, but once in a while when a mixup happens, WATCH OUT!! If you have an overdraft, there is no call to notify you. You'll receive notice via postcard a week after it happens, so they charge $39 for the overdraft plus another $48 because it's been more than 6 days, then they add on $7 per day thereafter, so if it's been 8 days, that's $94 in overdraft fe... read more

Good for me. – I've had nothing but a good experience with Compass bank. Perhaps they've shaken up their protocol. The people at my branch are awesome and really cool and I've never had a problem with any transactions. Perhaps I'm biding my time but so far so good.

Terrible Bank – This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is horrible, every transaction is a problem, their personnel are rude and their fees are rediculous. I couldn't make a cash deposit without a problem.

Worst Bank I've ever experienced! – I've been a business owner for over 25 years and I have to say that this is the most excrutiating bank I've ever dealt with. In the short time I've been with this bank I've nearly "blown a brain gasket" at least six times due to their flippant attitudes and ridiculous policies and procedures. As my peers and business relations will attest, I am one of the most mellow, easy going people they know. I don't blow gaskets. It's not my style.
