I visited Bay Street Salon for the first time this past December. My stylist was Suzanne (I had to book appointment about 5 weeks earlier to get this appointment!) and she was THE BEST! I went back last week for color touchup and highlights and cut. I always tell my stylist to do what they want as far as cut - I am easy. I just like to keep the length. A stylist by the name of Angela cut my hair and did an okay job but the one thing i HATE with a passion is the stylist not telling you they will charge you extra for the service of ironing out or whatever and my hair is short so it took like 20 min of the hour that I felt I paid \$45.00 for (just an FYI.. I started coming to Gary Valenti @ Bay Street Salon about a year ago upon the recommendation of my neighbor whose hair always looks simply stunning. Gary is absolutely fabulous with both cut and color, I like to push the line between color and cut which is appropriate for my corporate job yet has an edge which reflects a bit of my personality. I ranked them average because I didnt receive a haircut that i couldnt have gotten from Supercut (at much lower cost by the way). I dont remember the name of the person who cut my hair, but he did not follow directions well. I told him I wanted a cut with low maintenance, and one that i didnt have to blowdry everyday, instead to style it with moose ...well sorry to say he gave me the complete opposite. Haircuts cost 55 (tip not included). Im not wasting my money again.
I am still crying at how horrible my hair looks. I went to this salon for the first time and saw a stylist named Nicole. I went in with light brown hair and blond hightlights and all i wanted was a few less blond highlights and more brown....i ended up with half my hair black and half my hair dark brown and with the most horrilbe haircut ever. Ive been going to this salon for 9 years and have seen three different stylists. I am always happy with the service here. I get my hair colored and cut. Ive gotten highlights and lowlights or all over color. I get compliments on my hair style and color where ever I go. I had to write something to balance out that negative review! I dont think Ive ever seen anyone with a terrible hair style in all the years Ive been going there.
Ive been going to Bay Street for 3 years now, and my stylist Michelle is amazing. Shes done fantastic things for my color and since Ive had her doing my hair, I am constantly told it looks fantastic. I find the personnel there friendly and cooperative with one another. The place looks like an expensive SF spa, so its a treat to go to as well. This salon is very unfriendly with customers. You never want to go there. Because they dont even do permanent for you. A good stylish suppose to know all the skills. Sad!!!
