August 24, 2015 I have a 2005 VW Beetle TDI that sat through the 2015 NY winter without being driven. It took its toll. By the time it was driven to a local VW dealership, the report was that it needed nearly $5,000 worth of repairs or sell it. The car does not have 68,000 miles on it. I bought the car with the intention of driving it at least $250,000 miles.
