Great people,and stuff you can't find anywhere else
It's with a profound sense of pride and sadness that my favorite hardware store in the world-\-\Battels Hardware-\-\is soon to be no longer! I grew up at Battels! My favorite childhood memories were spent watching my grandfather and uncle, Bud McCracken and Jack Carmichael operate their business in a truly Christian way from the start of the business day until the doors closed when the day was done. Everyone there is always willing to help and are very nice.
If its working on My Machines or My House, No One beats Battels for help, If you ever need Nuts, Bolts,Washers,Drill Bits, So Many Many items, And the best help I have ever had, Dont be fooled thinking the Big building places are your friend, There not, They give away one item & kill you on price for the next 5 items ! But Again, If you are ever working on something and need Nuts Or Bolts Standard or Metric, You Have Never seen a better selection !!!
What a great change has come to Battles. The inventory is back up. Helpful staff. Fun sale items. It was bad a few years ago. I am glad I can shop there again with confidence they will have what I need and people to help me.
Went to get a screen re-screened last week. They were busy training a new person and did not listen to my request. I paid and got a brand new screen, not the re-screen that I needed. They said that there was no price difference in making a brand new screen versus replacing a broken screen. Had to wait a week to get my old screen back. Will not be going back! James Hardware in La Habra is worth the drive!!
