The food was delicious and our server, Daniel, was very attentive and thoughtful. He made sure our water glasses were always full and even added a sparkler to our dessert as he saw we were celebrating a birthday. Very nice ambiance as well!
Basta is a welcome bright spot on the Thousand Oaks Boulevard dining scene. The food is delicious, the interior is stylish and inviting, and the staff are knowledgeable pros—many of them Italian—which adds to the restaurant's authentic feel. On my most recent visit for lunch, I ordered the Vegana Bowl with quinoa, lentils, roasted squash, Brussels sprouts, Tuscan kale, and a lemon vinaigrette. UPDATE June 2025, Just had a really special dinner with the family. Outstanding service! (thank you Ivan). Best steak I’ve ever had. We ordered a ribeye for the table. The entire experience was perfect. BEST PIZZA IVE HAD IN MY LIFE! Don’t listen to the fake reviews from the GreenBaums. Those reviews were posted four days before Basta opened. Okay their octopus is wayyy too good. We got the Burratta Pizza and it was 10/10!! Spaghetti Volonge was also delicious!! 10/10 recommend this place, it’s a hidden gem.
