Join us at the shop! Our love of all things fiber is reflected in our carefully curated selection of yarn from indie dyers and independent companies that are usually only found at fiber festivals. We have one of the largest selections of small-batch, indie-dyed yarns in the southeast. We love sharing the unique fibers, notions, and accessories that we find on our travels with our customers! The Baskets of Yarn staff are skilled in knitting, but several of us also crochet, quilt, sew, embroider, cross stitch, and macram&eacut... read more

I visited Baskets of Yarn yesterday and was so impressed! Lucy, the new owner, is so warm and welcoming. She took time to give me a tour of the shop and to talk with me about specific designs and techniques. The shop itself is an inviting and aesthetically pleasing place. I will definitely be a frequent shopper here.
What a gem! This shop is packed out with the most gorgeous yarns and notions - much of which are indie/local. I'm so grateful to Lucy and Janis for helping me to explore my passion for fiber and color - their enthusiasm is contagious!
I stopped in Baskets of Yarn on Saturday, just minutes before it was due to close. I was half expecting to be rushed, but gratefully, the staff was gracious and helpful and told me to take my time browsing. The yarn selection was beautiful and with a little guidance from the staff I was able to select some summer yarns. I am looking forward to returning!
I cannot adequately express how excited I am about the new Baskets of Yarn! Lucy and her employee/friends are friendly, knowledgable, and love yarn. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome to browse, touch the yarn, chat, and of course sit in knit in the fun knitting knook. Lucy's selection of artisan dyed yarns are dazzling.
The yarn selection is beautiful! The store ownership has changed a lot though and with it changes to how often I want to visit. With the possibilities of ordering online, it's easier to buy certain things at other LYS and purchase the luxury stuff through people I know. I do not dislike the owner, but the customer service is standoffish and conversation is difficult. In addition, they are now putting specific hours on using their knitting room. I'm sad to see the changes to what used to be a staple to the knitting community.
Amazing little store! Everyone is so nice and helpful and they have some BEAUTIFUL yarn locally made and dyed.
This is a fantastic store. I love their yarn selection, they have almost every accessory or book that you could desire. I really like that I can take my well-behaved dog into the shop with me. Thank you ladies.
