I was 322 pounds in 2009 dr. Cottam performed my surgery in 2009 now I am 165 lb I have had plastic surgery to remove 8 lb of skin I feel so much better.
I'm now two years post-op with over 100 pounds lost with the DS procedure. I was taking 3 oral medications and night-time insulin and meal-time insulin. I no longer take ANYTHING for the diabetes! I had sleep apena and it is now gone. High blood pressure and high cholesterol both gone! I feel like a whole new person! Love the staff and the Doctors! Nothing but great things to say about them!
Not only are the staff nice and informed, some of them have had the same surgeries your looking in to. Would highly recommend BMI to anyone looking to get healthy and need that extra tool for success.
I had a duodenal switch done in November of 2017. Now a year and a half and 200 lbs later I am at my goal weight and exactly half the person I was back then. They have been amazing with the support of their nutritionist and exercise coach. I would suggest them to anyone that asked!

I had lapband surgery in 2009. According to my GI Dr, my band has slipped and I’ve gained all the weight plus 12 pounds. Looking into the DS surgery. Any thoughts or concerns or positive feedback?
I had the DS surgery the end of Nov. Dr Cottam couldn’t have been any nicer! They answer every question and are so helpful!. Amazing people!
I weighed approx 230 lbs. befor my primary care physician referred me to BMI. I am now 151. I had gotten down to 149 once, but it fluctuates a lot. But BMI has been great to be there to answer questions and give me inspiration. Oh and the hospital staff at SL Regional were great and helpful making sure I was comfortable.
