A great spot for authentic Spanish food and beverages.
After a hiatus of a few months, we went back last Sunday and had a FANTASIC dinner. The Branzino was grilled to perfection, the bread was warm and tasty, and the few sides we ordered were great as was our waitress, Gianna(?). Add to this feast a good Albarino at 1/2 price and you have the making of a feast.
We have been eating at this Barcelona for years, and let me say: it may be the best run restaurant in Washington, DC, and it sports incredible, consistently delicious food. The charcuterie boards, veggie tapas, paellas - all top notch. They rotate in new items but keep the stellar rockstars the same. We think they do better paella than Xiquet, which has a Michelin Star. I had a wonderful experience at Barcelona. The food was outstanding, full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a lovely evening out. Overall, everything was excellent. The only reason for my 4 stars in service is that the drinks took a little longer than expected, but once they arrived, they were delicious and worth the wait. I went on a Sunday afternoon and everything was great! Our server was attentive and well informed. The food was very good and the wine equally good. Highly recommended.
