My husband was in charge of making a dinner reservation at some fancy pants restaurant in historic downtown but instead decided we should wing it. When that left us high, dry, and hungry, I saved the day by finding Barbara Jean's on Google. This place is crazy. Tons of options on the menu, homemade bread that comes out warm, butter that I swear is whipped with pure joy then sprinkled with happiness. Fantastic southern food on the marsh. Great staff and family friendly
While vacationing in Amelia Island Memorial Weekend 5/28/16 with my family, this restaurant was recommended to me. We were very disappointed with the service and food. Food not good and we were over charged. When the waitress took our order, we asked what came with the half and half. She told us two sides and bread. Then we asked what were the specials. Wow! We picked the wrong day and time to eat here. The worst service we have ever ever ever had at any restaurant. Could not begin to tell you what happened. No waitress, no silverware, no drinks, no bread, no sides, had to ask the specials, never came to ask if we needed anything. Was not offered any additional beverages. Had to ask for a takeout box.
